Yagami's crush on Godai finally had to come to an end when student teaching period finished and Godai leaving the gate for the last time.
Like a fever that came and gone, she thought. But something in her personality refuse to accept the inevitable reality. That is the charm of her that made me like her over all other female manga characters. Her tear confirmed that she was really fall in love with Godai without knowing it.
It is the turning point for Yagami's role in this manga. If she was thinking like most of the people, she might understand there will be no fruit for her pursues of Godai's love. But emotion won over logic Yagami had become the only person in MI without a relatively happy ending.
